Knowing with increasing certainty how the world will transform in the future will be a competitive advantage in the business world.

There is a theory that more and more leaders, politicians, and economists are paying attention to. This is the theory of Singularity, by Ray Kurzweil, who has been honored by four presidents of the United States. This theory speaks of an exponential change in technology, where year after year technological advances will be more and more radical, at levels thousands of times faster than the technological changes of the 20th century. How is this possible? Because we use technology to create technology, meaning fast computers make other computers even faster. Robots build more efficient robots, etc. Additionally, today with the internet, knowledge is disseminated much faster.

The most interesting thing is that Ray Kurzweil is considered the best futurist in the world by Bill Gates, accurately predicting since the 70s, the year wireless Internet would emerge, when in the 80s he predicted the year a computer would defeat the world chess champion. Furthermore, many of the brightest minds at MIT and Harvard support the theory of Singularity, including Peter Diamandis (co-founder of Singularity University), who tweeted a few months ago that he had given a talk about Singularity in front of engineer Carlos Slim. But what exactly are the implications of this theory? By 2029, there will be computers passing the Turing test, meaning Artificial Intelligence so advanced that we won't be able to distinguish if they are human or machine. For example, "Siri" will be a super virtual secretary. By 2045, a single computer will be millions of times more intelligent than all humans combined. This is Singularity, a moment in which it is unpredictable what will happen, so it is a good time to spend some time analyzing this theory with this documentary http://youtu.be/NvE4UhKmEfw and thus understand how the future will be, something that begins to give a competitive advantage to any business that wants to adapt to exponential changes.
